Clement Rivers, LLP is pleased to announce the formation of the Family and Domestic Law Practice Group. This new group will include attorneys Robert Gruber, James D. (Tripp) Gandy, III and Paul W. Garfinkel. Robert, Tripp and Paul have the knowledge and resources necessary to provide high quality counsel and litigation services to clients seeking divorce, separate maintenance and support, child custody, division of marital property and any other issues within the jurisdiction of South Carolina Family Courts.

Robert will chair the Family and Domestic Law Practice Group. Robert began his legal career in Family Court 21 years ago when he began working for McDougall & Self, LLP in Columbia and Sumter, South Carolina. Robert has practiced law with Clement Rivers, LLP for the past 18 years where he has represented clients in Family Court, State Circuit Court and before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.

James D. (Tripp) Gandy, III joined Clement Rivers, LLP in January 2020 as a member of the Professional Liability Practice Group. Prior to joining Clement Rivers, LLP, Tripp was a sole practitioner where he gained significant experience in Family Court handling numerous cases ranging from uncontested divorces to hotly contested custody disputes.

Paul represented clients in Family Court for 25 years before becoming a Family Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. After more than 19 years on the Family Court Bench, Paul retired and joined Clement Rivers, LLP, where he serves as a mediator and arbitrator in Family Court cases. Paul will put his considerable experience to work as a consultant to our family law clients.
