(January 6, 2021) – The Partnership of YCRLAW, LLP is pleased to announce its new name: Clement Rivers, LLP. The name honors the memory and legacy of two of the law firm’s founding partners, the late Robert L. Clement, Jr. and the late G. L. Buist Rivers, Jr.
“Bob” Clement and “Buist” Rivers both played pivotal roles in the founding of the modern version of the law firm. “Their approach to the practice of law, and the notion of the law firm as a member of the broader community, still resonates with us today and continues to serve as guiding principles for the members of the firm,” said Wilbur E. Johnson, Clement Rivers’ Managing Partner.
With a history that dates back to the 1850s, Clement Rivers has taken great pride in delivering quality legal services, with integrity. Although the name of the firm is changing, the dedication of its attorneys and staff will certainly remain the same. Clients and friends of the firm have counted on Clement Rivers for its legal services and public service contributions throughout the years, and those commitments on the part of the firm will not change.
“Our relationships with the citizens of the greater Charleston area have sustained us through the good times and times of challenge,” Johnson added. “We want to celebrate our history, as well as our pride in where we live and work. We look forward to the opportunity, as Clement Rivers, to continue to share time, talent and treasure with the community.”
