Haley Appoints Interim Commissioner

J. Steven Rodenberg

Governor Nikki Haley has appointed Mike Campbell, 45-year-old son of the late former governor Carroll Campbell, to the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Commissioner Andrea Roche. Campbell is a business development consultant in Columbia and lost in the Republican primary to Henry McMaster earlier this year in his second bid to become lieutenant governor. Governor Haley said “Mike’s experience will give him the insight needed to be both business-friendly and fair – exactly the qualities we want our commissioners to have.” Campbell said “as a longtime small businessman, I share Governor Haley’s commitment to creating a better and fairer climate for employers and workers in our state.”
